Read about our last experience at Carnegie Hall:
NJCS Sings at Carnegie Hall On Friday, January 22, 2010, the New Jersey Choral Society performed “American Gospel Music” in Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium. Conducted by Maestro Eric Dale Knapp, the program featured soprano soloist Babbie Mason, Grammy-nominated artists Triumphant Quartet, the male a cappella ensemble Vocal Union, over 250 singers, and a 55 piece orchestra. NJCS was thrilled to have been a part of such a prestigious event. On a personal level, this was a concert that I will never forget. I’ve been singing for 20 years and I have performed all over the world, but just walking onto the Perelman Stage gave me a jolt of electricity that was simply incomparable to anything in my previous experience. To get the chance to perform in one of the most famous venues in the entire world with some truly gifted talents placed the experience of this concert far and above anything else in my singing career. The overwhelming success of the concert was a true tribute to Maestro Knapp. He was able to mold nearly a dozen smaller choral units into a single cohesive choir during only two days of rehearsal. Combined with the angelic sounds of Triumphant Quartet and Vocal Union, and the soulful beauty of Babbie Mason, the concert was surely a unique event in the history of even such an esteemed venue as Carnegie Hall.
