2011 - 2012 Season VOCE
voce: VO-chay (Italian: voice)
Dear Friends,
It is with great excitement and anticipation that I welcome you to the New Jersey Choral Society's 2011-2012 season - voce - the voice of humanity, the ageless voice seeking to inspire the world with goodwill, the voice of music, wisdom, and art. Music and the humanities respond to the time in which they live, and our concerts are designed to add a harmonious voice of insight and encouragement to your life. voce calls forth passion, excellence, and imagination as we unite our voices to deliver this message to you in a very distinctive way.
I am especially pleased this season to introduce our chamber choir, the NJCS Camerata, who will delight you with their exceptional blend of voices for "a sacred space". Please join us in November for the premiere Camerata performance, the start of a new NJCS tradition.
Walt Whitman's poetry in A Sea Symphony begs the question ... "Who speak the secret of impassive earth?" and Ralph Vaughan Williams responds with ... "Singing" ... voices united in a powerful choral and orchestral proclamation. In this moment rests the essence of our season. I invite you to experience what may be our most imaginative and impassioned season to-date, one with an extraordinary message encased in beautiful music. We look forward to sharing this journey of discovery with you.
Kind regards,
